BILL is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Supplier Payments Plus (SPP) team. SPP is built for large suppliers who receive many payments, across many payment types, with multiple invoices in each payment. If you like building reliable payments systems that move real money and make life easier for enterprise customers, this role is for you.

SPP delivers payments from BILL customers to suppliers, along with the reconciliation data those suppliers need to close their books. The team owns the core of that experience: ACH and straight-through processing (STP), reconciliation files and reports, secure delivery to supplier systems (SFTP, SSH keys, static IP), invoice-level data and billing statements, and the SPP portal. We are also building AI-driven invoice ingestion, matching and reconciliation.

In this role, you will design, build and operate services that process payments at scale. You will work with Product, FinSuite, Payments Platform, InstaPay and Data Platform to ship features that improve reconciliation accuracy, speed up supplier onboarding and time to value, and protect and grow payment volume on SPP.

We’d love to chat if you have: 

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related area
• 3+ years developing systems/software for large business environment platforms on Java 
• Experience implementing complex distributed systems and robust, highly scalable, and performant SaaS applications
• Experience with AWS: ECS, lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, Kinesis, etc.
• Experience with database design for SQL (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB)
• Experience with build tools like Gradle and implementing CI/CD pipelines 
• Experience leveraging Gen AI technologies to accelerate software engineering by designing prompts, rigorously evaluating outputs, and integrating LLMs
• Excellent teamwork and communication; ability to work across multiple feature teams and product managers

Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits. The estimated salary  ranges noted below roles in the specific  geographic zones

Zone 1: San Francisco Bay Area CA (includes HQ), New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles County$130,000—$156,000 USDZone 2: CA (Non San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County), Austin TX, Massachusetts$117,000—$140,400 USDZone 3: Utah (includes Utah office), Dallas TX, Houston TX, Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, Georgia, Oregon, Pennsylvania$110,500—$132,600 USD
