Senior Software Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in India.

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Software Engineer to design, architect, and deliver scalable, high-performance software solutions within a dynamic IT services environment. In this role, you will work on complex distributed systems, modern database architectures, microservices, and AI-powered applications. You will play a key role in improving system reliability, optimizing performance, and establishing robust development and deployment practices. You will also contribute to the development of intelligent agents, agentic workflows, and applications powered by large language models (LLMs). Leveraging modern AI-assisted development tools, you will help accelerate engineering productivity while maintaining high standards of code quality and technical excellence. Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable database solutions using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, ensuring data integrity, availability, and efficient query performance.
• Architect and implement distributed computing systems with a strong focus on scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and efficient resource utilization.
• Lead performance optimization initiatives, identify system bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance application responsiveness and reliability.
• Establish and maintain comprehensive observability frameworks to monitor system health, track performance metrics, and proactively identify potential issues.
• Manage source control processes and development workflows using Git, ensuring effective collaboration, code management, and version tracking.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to streamline software integration, testing, and deployment.
• Promote and implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices to improve software quality, maintainability, and test coverage.
• Develop and maintain AI observability frameworks to monitor, evaluate, and analyze the behavior and performance of intelligent systems and AI agents.
• Design, build, and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices to support modular, scalable, and loosely coupled application architectures.
• Develop AI agents and agentic workflows using modern AI technologies and development tools to enhance automation and engineering productivity.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor to accelerate software development while ensuring code quality and reliability.
• Build and deploy Model Context Protocol (MCP)-based applications powered by large language models (LLMs).
• Integrate external AI APIs and services to extend application capabilities and deliver innovative intelligent solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to define architecture, resolve complex engineering challenges, and deliver high-quality software solutions.

Requirements:

• Between 5 and 15 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably within the IT services industry.
• Advanced proficiency in relational database management systems, particularly PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong expertise in system architecture and design principles, especially in distributed computing environments.
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing scalable, reliable, and high-performance software systems.
• Proven ability to conduct performance tuning, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement observability solutions.
• Hands-on experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and modular application architectures.
• Solid understanding of artificial intelligence technologies, including AI agents, agentic workflows, and AI observability.
• Practical experience using AI-powered development assistants and coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Cursor.
• Knowledge and experience developing Model Context Protocol (MCP) applications and integrating large language models (LLMs).
• Ability to integrate external AI APIs and incorporate intelligent capabilities into existing software systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex architectural and engineering challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in distributed teams.
• A proactive, quality-driven mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with emerging technologies.
