Take a leading technical role in delivering reliable, secure, and high-performing IT infrastructure for professional services organizations. As a Senior IT Project Engineer, you will design, implement, and optimize complex technology solutions across networking, cloud platforms, virtualization, and Microsoft environments. You will collaborate with project managers, solutions architects, and service delivery professionals to address client needs, manage infrastructure upgrades, and deliver successful technical projects. Beyond hands-on engineering, you will mentor junior team members, guide technical decisions, and help strengthen service delivery standards. This fully remote opportunity is suited to an experienced IT professional who can independently resolve complex challenges while maintaining exceptional client relationships. Occasional travel and participation in an on-call rotation are also required.

Accountabilities

You will provide senior-level technical expertise across client projects and managed IT environments, ensuring infrastructure solutions meet business, security, and operational requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Serve as a technical leader within the service delivery department, guiding the design and implementation of solutions for client and internal engagements.

    • Mentor, train, and support junior service delivery professionals, sharing technical expertise and promoting best practices.

    • Identify, propose, design, and deliver infrastructure upgrades and projects that improve client productivity, security, and system stability.

    • Conduct network discovery activities and support onboarding for new managed services clients.

    • Configure, implement, and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure, networking components, and Microsoft technologies.

    • Assess client technical requirements, regulatory considerations, and associated risks to recommend appropriate and compliant solutions.

    • Collaborate with project managers, solutions architects, and other engineering professionals to deliver complex technology initiatives.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced client technical issues independently, minimizing unnecessary escalations.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client documentation as infrastructure environments and configurations evolve.

    • Deliver exceptional customer service and provide timely technical expertise throughout project engagements.

    • Track project hours, scheduled versus actual time, billable utilization, and individual performance metrics.

    • Maintain an 85% billable utilization target and achieve a minimum 90% customer satisfaction score on delivered projects.

    • Document all work accurately within the ticketing system and follow established service delivery procedures.

    • Adhere to security protocols and contribute to continuous improvements in operational and technical standards.

    • Stay current with emerging technologies and pursue relevant professional certifications in alignment with technical objectives.

    • Participate in the technical on-call rotation and travel when required.

    • Requirements

The ideal candidate combines extensive infrastructure engineering experience with strong technical ownership, client-facing skills, and the ability to manage complex projects independently. Required qualifications include:

      • At least 7 years of relevant professional IT experience.

      • Strong experience across multiple technology areas, including physical and virtual infrastructure, networking, and Microsoft environments.

      • Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or IT services provider; experience supporting law firms is a plus.

      • Advanced expertise in configuring and managing network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and VPN technologies.

      • Strong experience with enterprise infrastructure platforms, including Hyper-V, VMware ESX/vCenter, virtual desktops, physical servers, and storage appliances.

      • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint, Teams, and on-premises operating systems.

      • Familiarity with MSP platforms and tools such as Autotask PSA, Datto RMM, Datto BCDR, BrightGauge, and Hudu.

      • Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages for application deployment, reporting, and automation.

      • Familiarity with cybersecurity technologies, risk management, and industry frameworks or standards such as CIS, NIST, and SOC 2.

      • Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure, Desktop as a Service (DaaS), or Windows PC environments.

      • Associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related IT discipline preferred.

      • Microsoft and Cisco certifications are advantageous.

      • Experience with legal technology platforms such as iManage and NetDocuments is a plus.

      • Professional and interpersonal skills:

        • Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment when interacting with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

        • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and make effective technical decisions with minimal supervision.

        • Strong analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.

        • Excellent time management, organization, and project coordination skills.

        • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

        • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly to changing requirements, and remain effective under pressure.

        • Self-motivation, reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience.

        • Understanding of IT service delivery processes, support tools, and the practical application of technology in business environments.

        • Benefits

          • Annual salary ranging from $105,000 to $115,000.

          • Fully remote working arrangement within the United States.
