Manager Supplier Quality & Continuous Improvement (m/f/d)

Mission Brief 

The Manager Supplier Quality & Continuous Improvement leads supplier quality performance, supplier development, and organizational learning. This role ensures supplier quality requirements are clearly defined, supplier capabilities are assessed, and supplier nonconformities are resolved through effective corrective actions and sustainable improvements.

The position drives a culture of continuous improvement, governs corrective action processes, measures the Cost of Poor Quality, and leads initiatives that strengthen supply chain quality, manufacturing performance, and quality maturity as production scales.

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Lead supplier quality management, including supplier qualification, audits, and development in partnership with Procurement.
• Govern supplier corrective actions and internal corrective and preventive action processes, verifying effectiveness and preventing recurrence.
• Own lessons learned processes and ensure organizational learning is systematically captured and deployed.
• Define supplier quality requirements with Engineering and Product Assurance, and monitor supplier performance through quality metrics and reviews.
• Develop and maintain Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) reporting and improvement initiatives, including supplier-related defects, rework, and scrap.
• Coordinate containment and root cause investigations for supplier nonconformities with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Drive quality culture initiatives throughout the organization.
• Lead continuous improvement projects targeting supplier quality, internal process performance, and operational efficiency.
• Support supplier capability and internal quality maturity assessments, translating gaps into development roadmaps.
• Partner with Procurement, Product Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Incoming Inspection to address recurring supplier issues.
• Provide management reporting on supplier quality trends, supply chain quality risks, and improvement actions.
• Promote data-driven decision making and operational excellence across the organization.

Qualification Checklist 

• Experience in supplier quality, supplier development, or quality management, combined with continuous improvement leadership.
• Strong understanding of corrective action methodologies and root cause analysis tools.
• Experience in supplier qualification, quality audits, nonconformity management, and supplier corrective actions.
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Experience driving cultural and organizational change initiatives.
• Ability to influence suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders and drive agreed improvement actions.
• Understanding of manufacturing quality systems and product lifecycle processes.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
• Experience in aerospace, high-tech manufacturing, or regulated industries is advantageous.
• Professional proficiency in English; German is beneficial.
