Engineer Application Support

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineer Application Support based in India.

The Engineer Application Support will provide technical and application support for HVACR and cold chain solutions, contributing to new product qualification, application development, and customer satisfaction. This role combines engineering expertise with hands-on customer engagement, supporting OEMs, contractors, sales teams, and channel partners. You will coordinate product testing, calculate heat loads, recommend suitable system components, and help resolve technical issues in the field and on customer production lines. Working closely with sales, marketing, plant, quality, and engineering teams, you will help translate market needs into practical product and business opportunities. The position also involves technical training, product promotion, and continuous development of application solutions across North and East India.

Accountabilities:

• New Product Qualification: Coordinate new product qualification activities for OEM and SSI OEM customers, including sharing required technical documentation, discussing test plans and sample requirements, and coordinating sample availability and delivery with sales teams.

• Work with customers throughout sample evaluation and qualification, supporting pilot production and addressing issues identified during post-field testing.

• Cold Chain Contractor Support: Gather application inputs from sales teams, colleagues, and customers to perform heat load calculations and prepare technical reports.

• Recommend appropriate system components, including condensing units and expansion valves, based on application requirements.

• Support sales teams in developing optimized technical and commercial offers, improving enquiry conversion, and providing post-sales assistance for installation and commissioning.

• Application Development: Monitor technical developments, market trends, and product innovations in the cold chain sector, preparing monthly reports on relevant findings.

• Identify opportunities for new product development and share technical inputs with marketing and engineering teams.

• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and prospective customers to develop annual application development plans, execute initiatives, communicate product value, and support business growth.

• Customer Issue Resolution: Coordinate between customers, manufacturing plants, quality teams, and engineering to investigate and resolve production-line and field-related issues.

• Record and update customer issues in the Oracle Service Portal, engage with customers through discussions or site visits, and communicate technical findings and proposed resolutions.

• Where necessary, arrange compressor teardown activities and share the resulting findings with relevant stakeholders.

• Coordinate corrective actions with plant and engineering teams, including arranging corrective and preventive action (CAPA) when manufacturing-related issues are identified.

• Sales and Marketing Support: Contribute to the preparation of technical and promotional materials with sales and marketing teams.

• Assist channel partners with product collateral and promotional activities, including training sessions and seminars.

• Participate in local ISHRAE, cold chain, and other relevant industry forums to support product awareness and promotion.

Requirements:

• At least 4–5 years of relevant professional experience in application engineering, technical support, HVACR, refrigeration, or a related engineering environment.

• Strong understanding of product application, qualification processes, and technical customer support.

• Ability to perform heat load calculations and recommend suitable refrigeration system components, including condensing units and expansion valves.

• Experience coordinating product testing, sample evaluation, pilot production, installation, commissioning, or field issue resolution.

• Ability to investigate technical problems, identify root causes, communicate findings, and coordinate corrective actions across customer, plant, quality, and engineering teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate customer and market requirements into practical application solutions.

• Good communication and collaboration skills, particularly when working with customers, sales teams, channel partners, and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Ability to support technical training, product presentations, seminars, and promotional activities.

• Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple technical activities and follow through on resolution plans.

• Familiarity with Oracle Service Portal or similar customer issue-tracking systems would be useful.
