Advisor, Voice Services Product Owner

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Advisor, Voice Services Product Owner based in India.

As a Voice Services Product Owner, you will shape the strategy, roadmap, and evolution of a critical telecommunications platform supporting voice and local connectivity services. You will bridge business needs, customer expectations, and technical capabilities to deliver innovative and reliable solutions. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Service Delivery teams, you will drive platform enhancements and operational improvements. Your expertise will help optimize telecommunications workflows, strengthen customer outcomes, and ensure compliance with industry requirements. Accountabilities:

• Own and maintain the Voice Services platform strategy, product roadmap, backlog, and enhancement priorities.

• Define and prioritize platform requirements based on customer needs, operational insights, regulatory requirements, market trends, and business objectives.

• Champion product initiatives across cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders, aligning priorities, scope, timelines, and expected outcomes.

• Collaborate with customers, Operations, Engineering, Service Delivery, Product Management, and other stakeholders to identify business needs, challenges, and improvement opportunities.

• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, platform capabilities, user stories, and acceptance criteria for development teams.

• Develop business requirements for new or modified ILEC and third-party vendor business rules.

• Conduct platform and process gap analyses, presenting findings, risks, recommendations, and proposed solutions to Product, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership.

• Identify opportunities to enhance automation, improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, strengthen customer experience, and support revenue growth.

• Coordinate the transfer of requirements between Product and development teams supporting the Enhanced Service Request program.

• Evaluate proposed technical solutions to ensure alignment with product strategy, business requirements, customer expectations, and platform standards.

• Ensure Engineering deliverables meet agreed business, functional, quality, and release requirements.

• Lead business readiness and release certification activities, evaluating results, identifying risks, and presenting recommendations to relevant stakeholders and leadership.

• Exercise independent judgment when assessing product requirements, customer requests, technical solutions, regulatory impacts, and platform risks.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, product development, or a related discipline within the telecommunications industry.

• At least 5 years of telecommunications industry experience, specializing in ILEC Connectivity Management and Local Services support.

• Extensive knowledge of Local Service Request (LSR) processing and supported request types, including Number Portability, Directory Listings, Directory Assistance, E911 fulfillment processing, CNAM, and LIDB services.

• Experience coordinating and testing Local Number Portability release activities and maintenance initiatives.

• Proven experience owning complex product strategies and roadmaps within matrixed organizations.

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Operations, Service Delivery, customers, and senior leadership.

• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to align teams and drive decisions without direct authority.

• Ability to analyze complex business and technical challenges and develop clear, actionable recommendations.

• Experience presenting product strategy, investment proposals, risks, and performance insights to senior leadership.

• Strong business acumen and ability to connect platform capabilities with customer value, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and business growth.

• Experience defining and monitoring product performance metrics, operational indicators, and product health reporting.

• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and design-thinking capabilities, with a customer-focused mindset.

• Ability to balance strategic planning with tactical execution in a fast-paced environment.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
