**UP TO $5000 SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE!! Friendship Hospital for Animals**, a leading AAHA-accredited specialty and emergency hospital in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced **Advanced Veterinary Technician** to join our **Intensive Care Unit (ICU)** team. **About the role:**

- Provide exceptional, compassionate nursing care to critically ill and hospitalized patients, treating each patient as your own.

- Collaborate with board-certified criticalists, emergency clinicians, residents, interns, and technicians to deliver advanced, life-saving care.

- Utilize advanced technical skills, including vascular access, transfusion therapy, ventilator support, CRIs, invasive monitoring, and complex patient assessment.

- Monitor critically ill patients, recognize subtle changes, and confidently advocate when every second counts.

- Care for a wide variety of complex medical and surgical cases in a collaborative, high-acuity ICU.

- Mentor technicians, assistants, and trainees while fostering a culture of learning and clinical excellence.

- Support pet owners with compassionate communication during some of their most difficult moments.

- Excel in a fast-paced environment where teamwork, adaptability, critical thinking, and attention to detail drive exceptional patient care.

**Schedule:** Schedule is usually four 10 hour shifts per week, with some weekends and holidays required. This is a full time position.
