## Description

### Company Overview

Echo Neurotechnologies is an exciting new startup in the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) space, driving innovation through advanced hardware engineering and AI solutions. Our mission is to deliver cutting-edge technologies that restore autonomy to people living with disabilities and improve their quality of life.

### Team Culture

Join a small, dedicated team of knowledgeable and motivated professionals. Our early-stage environment offers the opportunity to take ownership of broad decisions with significant and long-lasting impact. We emphasize continuous learning and growth, fostering cross-functional collaboration where your contributions are vital to our success.
**Role Summary**

We are seeking a **Senior Full Stack Software Engineer **to architect and drive the execution of core applications powering our BCI product ecosystem. In this role, you will take technical ownership of end-to-end full-stack architectures, building high-performance desktop applications, cloud services, and user interfaces that stream and process device telemetry and real-time neural data. You will act as a key technical leader across the software team, driving architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional partners to translate complex clinical requirements into dependable, commercially ready medical software.

**Role Responsibilities **

● **Full Stack Architecture & Execution: **Architect, implement, and maintain complex software applications across desktop, web, and cloud environments, in Rust, Python, and TypeScript.

● **System Design & API Ownership: **Design, build, and optimize scalable system architectures, robust APIs, secure data pipelines, and high-performance data stores capable of handling real-time biological time-series data.

● **Technical Leadership & Mentorship: **Mentor and develop fellow engineers through regular code reviews, technical coaching, and architectural guidance, elevating engineering standards across the team.

● **Cross-Functional System Integration: **Partner closely with firmware, ML, clinical, and regulatory teams to define system-level interfaces and seamlessly integrate client and server components into the broader hardware ecosystem.

● **Engineering Best Practices: **Introduce and foster engineering rigor, emphasizing modular architecture, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, usability, and long-term maintainability.

● **Quality & Regulatory Compliance: **Lead the authoring of formal software design specifications, risk analyses, and verification protocols in alignment with medical software design controls (e.g., IEC 62304).

** Required Qualifications **

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

● 5+ years of production software engineering experience spanning full-stack application development, with a proven track record of taking complex software products to production.

● Expertise in Python and at least one other core language used in high-performance or modern systems (e.g., Rust, TypeScript).

● Demonstrated mastery in systems design, distributed data flows, performance-critical code optimization, and resilient API design.

● Solid track record as a technical lead or task owner with a strong passion for mentoring peer engineers.

● Deep understanding of software quality methodologies, automated testing frameworks, and release pipelines in production environments.

● Excellent cross-functional communication skills and comfort driving technical direction in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

**Preferred Qualifications **

● Direct experience developing medical device software under medical quality management systems and lifecycle regulations (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971).

● Hands-on experience architecting HIPAA-compliant systems handling sensitive medical data (PHI / PII) in cloud environments.

● Familiarity with biological sensor data, time-series signal processing, or neural signal workflows.

● Practical knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for connected device ecosystems (e.g., PKI, secure boot, encrypted transport).

Salary$180,000—$220,000 USD
